Working Hours: Casual ad hoc hours

Interview Date: 12th November 2026

Are you looking for a flexible role where you can make a difference in your local library?

Living Well Libraries are looking for friendly, enthusiastic people who enjoy working with communities and have a passion for libraries. As a Library and Community Access Worker (Casual), you’ll help deliver library services across our four Rutland Living Well Libraries — supporting customers, answering enquiries, providing information and signposting, helping with day-to-day tasks, and getting involved in activities and events.

This is a casual, flexible role, with work offered as needed to cover holidays, sickness and other service requirements. There are no guaranteed hours, so we are looking for people who enjoy flexible working, can adapt to different library settings and are able to travel between our four library sites.

About The Role

As a Library and Community Access Worker (Casual), you will:

  • Welcome and support customers, helping with library, IT, reading, learning and membership enquiries, and signposting to relevant services.
  • Support the day-to-day running of our libraries, including shelving, handling and repairing stock, deliveries, records and basic building duties.
  • Help create welcoming and engaging library spaces, supporting displays, activities and events for our communities.
  • Use our library management system to record and retrieve information (full training will be provided).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
