Reports to: Assistant Headteacher - English

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds and promoting a lifelong love of reading? Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an enthusiastic Library Manager to lead, manage, and transform our school library into a vibrant hub for extended student learning beyond the classroom.


About The Role

As Library Manager, you will lead and manage the library, ensuring its effective day-to-day operational functioning, strategic deployment of resources and capitation, and high-quality service delivery. You will contribute to a high standard of service to meet the needs of students, colleagues, and the whole school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Write and deliver an annual development plan linked to AIP priorities, compile annual impact reports, and contribute to the Academy Self-Evaluation Form on a termly basis.
  • Budget & Staff Management: Produce an annual itemised budget for the Headteacher and Finance Director, and manage the effective deployment of support staff allocated to the library, including the communications and analytics teams.
  • Promote Literacy: Work closely with the SLT Lead to promote reading. Ensure students can participate in national competitions and reading events, maintain the library catalogue, run key reading interventions for students catching up, and undertake phonics training.
  • Ofsted Preparedness: Maintain evidence of the library’s positive impact on Curriculum, Teaching, and Achievement.
