Location: RAF Wittering, Cambridgeshire / Northamptonshire PE8 6HB
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time 40 hours per week 4-on, 4-off shift pattern
Shifts: Typically 07:30–19:30, including weekends
Salary: £49,015.00 per annum + benefits

The Opportunity
Morson Edge are recruiting for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a leading Aerospace and Defence programme based at RAF Wittering.
This is an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer to carry out aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance, supporting the safe and efficient generation and release to service of aircraft.
Working alongside Mechanical and Avionic Engineers, you'll play an important role in maintaining aircraft to the required regulatory, safety and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out aircraft line and depth maintenance in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
- Support the generation and release to service of aircraft
- Lead and support technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities
- Conduct fault diagnosis and technical problem-solving
- Ensure engineering activities comply with legislation, procedures and customer requirements
- Work closely with the Site Operations Manager and wider engineering team to maintain operational output
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship

Essential Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of MOD engineering procedures and documentation
- Previous supervisory experience within a civil or military aviation environment
- Strong aircraft engineering and maintenance knowledge
- Ability to lead and support engineering personnel
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- CAA Part 66 B1.2 Licence – essential
- B3 Licence – accepted
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Human Factors qualification – desirable
- Recognised SHE qualification – desirable
- Defence industry experience – desirable
- Type Rating on Grob 115E aircraft and Lycoming 360 engines – desirable

Security Clearance
Candidates must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS and Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
