We are currently recruiting for a mid-level Designer with strong experience across ladies' and youth licensed apparel to join our client, a leading and highly respected apparel supplier with an excellent reputation within the industry. They are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Licensed Designer to work across both shapes and graphics, developing commercial, trend-led ranges for major high street and supermarket customers. As the role covers ladies' and youth, the ideal candidate must have a young, fresh and on-trend handwriting, with a strong understanding of current fashion, graphics and what appeals to a younger customer.

- Working across major licensed brands.
- Developing commercial, fashion-forward and trend-led ranges suitable for supermarkets and large-volume high street retailers.
- Creating original graphic concepts, prints, placements and all-over designs, alongside developing appropriate garment shapes and silhouettes.
- Ensuring designs have a young, contemporary and on-trend aesthetic that appeals to the ladies' and youth customer.
- Conducting detailed seasonal and ongoing trend research to identify new opportunities and ensure ranges are commercially relevant.
- Developing artwork and presentations for customer meetings and product sampling.
- Managing the design process from initial concept through to final product.
- Working closely with customers, licensees, suppliers and internal teams to ensure designs meet brand guidelines and customer requirements.
- Attending buyer meetings, presentations and licensing trade shows where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
