Role Description

The Licensed Fitness & Wellness Specialist is a part-time, remote role responsible for designing and delivering safe, effective fitness and wellness programs that complement clients’ mental health journeys. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Conducting virtual fitness assessments
  • Creating personalized exercise plans
  • Leading individual or group exercise sessions via online platforms

The specialist collaborates with therapists and other wellness professionals to ensure integrated care, educates clients on exercise physiology and healthy lifestyle habits, and monitors progress to adjust programs as needed. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate session documentation
  • Providing responsive and empathetic customer service
  • Adhering to professional and ethical standards for client care and safety

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Group Exercise and Fitness Instruction for leading engaging, safe, and inclusive virtual sessions.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of the Fitness Industry and Exercise Physiology to design evidence-based, goal-oriented wellness programs.
  • Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills to support clients with empathy, clear communication, and timely responses.
  • Active professional certification or license in fitness, exercise science, or a related field (e.g., CPT, CES, or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals receiving mental health support, is highly beneficial.
  • Strong digital literacy and comfort with video conferencing, fitness apps, and online client management tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage a part-time schedule, and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Background in wellness coaching, nutrition, or mind-body practices (e.g., yoga, meditation) is a plus.
