About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Associate Manager to join our UK Life Sciences R&D practice, bringing a combination of Life Sciences industry knowledge, technology-enabled transformation experience and strong programme delivery capability. The role sits at the intersection of business consulting and technology programme delivery, with Pharmaceutical experience expected and adjacent Life Sciences sector experience (e.g. MedTech) an advantage.
Key Responsibilities

- Apply structured problem-solving and consulting approaches to understand client challenges, develop insights and translate them into practical recommendations and delivery plans.
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders, leading discussions, workshops and status reviews within your area of responsibility.
- Lead workstream or project governance, proactively managing plans, risks, issues, dependencies, resources and delivery quality.
- Translate business and R&D requirements into executable solutions and coordinate delivery across business, technology, data, architecture and third-party teams.
- Support technical programme management across complex transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment between business outcomes, technology delivery and operational readiness.
- Coordinate and provide day-to-day leadership to junior colleagues, supporting their development through coaching, feedback and mentoring.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary Accenture teams, bringing together industry, technology, data and delivery perspectives to solve client problems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
