About Accenture's Life Sciences R&D Practice
Accenture's Life Sciences & Healthcare practice works with the world's leading pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech and healthcare organisations to reimagine how they research, develop and deliver treatments and therapies. Our R&D Clinical Domain team specialises in clinical development transformation — helping clients modernise their clinical operations, adopt digital and AI-enabled solutions, and build the organisational capabilities needed to bring innovative therapies to patients faster and more efficiently. We operate across the full clinical development value chain — from early-phase trial design through to regulatory submission and post-marketing surveillance — and bring a unique combination of functional clinical expertise, technology implementation capability and strategic consulting experience to every engagement.
About the Role
Accenture's Life Sciences R&D practice is looking for a Consultant to join our growing Clinical Domain team in EMEA. This is a unique opportunity for someone with hands-on clinical operations experience who wants to apply that expertise in a consulting environment — working with global pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare clients on some of the most complex and high-impact transformation programmes in the industry. You will work alongside experienced consulting leaders and clinical subject matter experts to help clients navigate the regulatory, operational and technological challenges of modern drug development. Your work will span AI-enabled solutions across the R&D value chain and clinical data transformation programmes — helping clients modernise their clinical operations, unlock the value of their data assets, and build the organisational capabilities needed to bring innovative therapies to patients faster and more efficiently. A central part of this role is the ability to operate at the intersection of Business, Operations and Technology — translating clinical expertise into strategic and practical recommendations that resonate with stakeholders across all three dimensions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
