Why Rolls-Royce?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lifecycle Engineer to join our team responsible for airline customers in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager for EMEA, you will support Civil Aero Engines and customer operations in this region. You will be responsible for responding directly to operator's technical issues as well as developing, implementing, and communicating technical solutions that meet customer, business, and regulatory requirements. You will also analyze engine operations, investigate operational events to pre-empt and prevent future issues. On occasion, you may also have to support the service investigation of engines returned to Overhaul Shops for repair and/or investigation.
The role operates in a dynamic and responsive environment; providing challenging opportunities whereby you will develop and operate Rolls-Royce Lifecycle Engineering activity at the point of interface with customers and maintenance facilities. For an Engineer looking for customer focus, there are few roles that provide a better opportunity to make a real difference to our primary revenue stream.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
