Lifecycle Technician - Blackburn
EQUANS is looking for a Lifecycle Technician to be based in Blackburn for our Blackburn & Lancashire Schools contract. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
- To carry out a range of activities associated with the maintenance/joinery repairs and minor upgrade of the internal and external building fabric on Lancashire and Blackburn & Darwen Schools sites, in accordance with good industry practice and in compliance with statutory legislation and guidance.
- The removal of furniture and installation of new furniture when required.
- Complete PPM’s when required.
- Assist the Technical team when required.

- Less use of contractors, being able to work around the school’s timetables.
Complexity:
- Respond in a timely manner to breakdown requests.
- Manufacture and fit items where required.
- Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
- Safely operate all types of hand and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers' guidelines.
- Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
- Maintain records as appropriate.
- Undertake a willingness to assist and work flexibly with other trades.
- Ensure that there is minimum disruption to the schools whilst carrying out work.
- Respond in a safe manner to the effects of bad weather, eg. snow clearing, gritting, flooding, high winds, etc.
- Undertake training where necessary to maintain and develop the requirements of the service.
- Collaborate and co-operate with partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focussed service.
- Assist the Projects Team in the delivery of lifecycle replacement programmes across multiple sites.
- Assist with site surveys, asset condition assessments and the collection of information required to support lifecycle planning.
- Monitor progress of lifecycle projects and provide updates to the Lifecycle Manager and Project Managers where required.
- Liaise and undertake duties at other EQUANS projects as directed.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
- Previously worked in a FM maintenance environment (ideally education environment).
- Sufficient experience in the construction / building maintenance industry.
- Good all-round decoration ability.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
- Experience liaising with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
