This is a full-time, on-site Lifeguard role based in North Hykeham. The Lifeguard will monitor poolside activities, ensure the safety and wellbeing of all swimmers, and respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies.

Responsibilities
- Supervising designated swimming areas
- Enforcing pool rules
- Carrying out regular safety checks
- Maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Setting up equipment for swimming sessions
- Supporting swimming instructors and coaches
- Providing excellent customer service to all visitors
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive atmosphere
- Promoting GLL’s commitment to health, safety, and community wellbeing
Qualifications
- Recognized lifeguard qualification (e.g., National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or equivalent) and strong swimming ability across multiple strokes.
- Solid understanding of water safety, pool supervision techniques, and emergency action plans.
- Ability to remain calm, make quick decisions, and respond effectively in emergency situations, including administering basic first aid and CPR.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with a diverse range of customers and colleagues.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow safety procedures and organisational policies consistently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the centre’s programme.
- Previous experience in a leisure, sports, or community facility is beneficial but not essential.
- Commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding, and supporting GLL’s values as a social enterprise.
