We are looking for a Lifeguard to join our Operations Team

Role Type: Part Time

Number of Hours: 24

The Role

  • Supervise all pool and spa areas, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of members and guests at all times.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a friendly, approachable and welcoming environment for every member.
  • Carry out routine poolside safety checks, water testing and plant monitoring, accurately recording all required information.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, following all Virgin Active operating procedures and lifeguarding protocols.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across all poolside, spa and changing facilities.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments and mandatory training requirements.
  • Support the wider Operations team with the day-to-day running of the club, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment throughout.
  • Undertake Duty Manager responsibilities when required, supporting the safe and efficient operation of the club.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a safe, enjoyable member experience.
  • Calm, confident and able to remain composed under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with members and colleagues.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety and operational standards.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Competency swimming up to 50 metres

No lifeguard qualification? No problem. We'll provide you with the training to achieve your Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding over a five day course, giving you everything you need to begin your career as a Virgin Active Lifeguard.
