Lifeguard – Guildford (Fitness and Wellbeing Gym) | Permanent | Part-Time
Salary: £26,166.40 pro-rata, 3.5 hours per week, every Friday

Key Responsibilities
As a Lifeguard, your role is central to safety, support, and exceptional member experience. Your responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and ensuring safety across wetside facilities, including:
- Swimming pool
- Spa
- Sauna
- Steam room
- Maintaining constant vigilance—being alert, attentive, and ready to respond in any situation
- Creating an inviting atmosphere—balancing professionalism with friendliness in customer interactions
- Assisting and guiding members with pool rules, usage, and general wellbeing support
- Adhering strictly to all Pool Safety Guidelines and operational protocols
- Immediate incident response—ensuring swift, effective action in emergencies
- Documenting health and safety records where required, reflecting your ongoing commitment to training

Person Specification
To excel in this role, we’re looking for:
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent recognised certification
- Ability to maintain up-to-date training records
- Excellent communicative skills—both verbal (front-of-house experience helpful) and non-verbal
- Strong aptitude for teamwork and collaboration with colleagues
- Passionate about health, fitness, and community wellbeing
Personal Attributes
- Enthusiastic, proactive attitude with a genuine desire to support members’ safety and enjoyment
- Professionalism paired with a relaxed, friendly demeanour when engaging with staff and guests
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and operational demands
- Duct tape physical endurance—standing for extended periods at times
