Role Description
The Lift Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting installation, maintenance, repair, and modernisation of a variety of lift systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, diagnosing faults, performing corrective repairs, and ensuring all lifts operate safely and efficiently in line with regulations and company standards.
The Lift Engineer will work on passenger lifts, goods lifts, and access products, including mechanical, hydraulic, and control system components, while maintaining accurate service records and adhering to first-time fix targets. The role also involves liaising with clients and site contacts to plan work, explain findings, and minimize disruption, as well as responding to breakdowns and participating in an out-of-hours rota where required.
Collaboration with the wider engineering and management team to continually improve service quality and safety performance is expected.

Qualifications
- Strong technical competency with lifting equipment, including passenger lifts, goods lifts, and access products.
- Proven experience in maintenance & repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems in lift installations.
- Effective communication skills to interact clearly with clients, colleagues, and site stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices in lift engineering.
- Customer service mindset, with a focus on reliability, professionalism, and minimizing disruption to client operations.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeship in lift engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites within the region as required.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and participate in an on-call or rota system when needed.
