Are you a skilled and dedicated lift engineer looking for a rewarding opportunity? Midland Lift Services Limited is a leading provider of lift maintenance, repair services, and the installation of new high-quality lifts, and we are currently seeking a Lift Modernisation and Installation Engineer to join our team.

This position will focus on executing planned lift modernisation and new installation projects, ensuring precise equipment upgrades and replacements are completed to specification. You will oversee the systematic installation of lift systems, coordinate technical aspects of modernisation work, and ensure all installations meet current safety regulations and industry standards while maximising performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute new lift installations and modernisation projects according to technical specifications and drawings
  • Lead the systematic removal and installation of lift equipment including controllers, machines, ropes, doors, and car components
  • Coordinate with project managers and site teams to ensure efficient installation schedules
  • Interpret and implement consultant specifications and technical requirements
  • Ensure all installations meet current safety regulations and industry standards
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installation progress, technical changes, and quality checks
  • Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout projects

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in lift installation and modernisation projects with NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Comprehensive understanding of lift installation procedures, including machine rooms, controllers, ropes, and door systems
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting technical drawings and consultant specifications
  • Strong knowledge of current lift regulations, British Standards, and safety requirements
  • Experience working on multiple lift manufacturers' equipment
  • Excellent project coordination and technical problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality installation standards
  • Professional communication skills for client and consultant interaction
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
