Lifting Appointed Person
📍 Aberdeen / Inverness
🏗️ Full-time
We’re looking for an experienced Lifting Appointed Person to join our client’s growing team and take technical responsibility for the safe planning and delivery of lifting operations across complex engineering, construction, and industrial projects.
Based in either the Aberdeen or Inverness offices, with regular travel between both and site locations, this is a hands-on technical role, focused on lift planning, risk management, and safe execution.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing detailed Lift Plans, RAMS, and Method Statements
- Conducting site surveys and assessing lifting requirements and site conditions
- Producing crane positioning and lifting drawings
- Selecting appropriate cranes, lifting equipment, and accessories
- Carrying out ground bearing, outrigger, and matting calculations
- Ensuring compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and BS 7121
- Briefing lifting teams and verifying competence
- Providing technical support and, where required, supervising complex/high-value lifts
- Liaising with clients and project teams to develop safe, practical lifting solutions

What we’re looking for:

- CPCS A61 Appointed Person
- 5+ years’ experience as an Appointed Person
- Strong lift planning and crane operations experience
- Excellent knowledge of crane duty charts, rigging, and lifting accessories
- Experience with AutoCAD, LICCON, or similar
- Strong knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and BS 7121
- Full UK driving licence
