Light Commercial Vehicle Technician

Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: 45 hours per week, 06:00 to 16:00
Location: MK41 0QS

As a Light Vehicle Technician, you will work as part of an essential team within our on-site workshop, focusing on the maintenance and repair of our light commercial vehicle (LCV) fleet, including vans and other non-HGV support vehicles. Your work will keep our operations moving, directly supporting vital, community-focused recycling and resource management services.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week. However, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?

  • Carrying out routine servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on vans and other non-HGV fleet vehicles.
  • Ensuring all regulations are followed in respect of the Health and Safety at Work Act and all other statutory regulations.
  • Participating in ongoing training within the organisation to remain sufficiently skilled.
  • Ensuring all work allocated is completed to an acceptable standard with regard to time and objectives.
  • Preparing and submitting relevant paperwork, worksheets, and maintenance records.
  • Ensuring all operations are legally compliant and systems and procedures work within the quality and environmental systems in place.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic working on vans, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), or cars (HGV experience is not required for this role).
  • Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is preferred).
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • Good computer skills, specifically Excel.
