Light Side Estimator - Contracts

Location: Port Talbot (with travel to customers and suppliers as required)

Are you organised, detail-focused and commercially minded? We’re looking for a proactive Light Side Estimator - Contracts to join our Contracts Office team, preparing accurate and competitive quotations and tenders across our plumbing, heating, bathroom and renewables product ranges.

What You’ll Do

  • Review customer enquiries, specifications and tender documents.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and tenders for plumbing, heating, bathroom and renewable projects.
  • Work closely with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and secure contract support where available.
  • Identify alternative product solutions and cost-saving opportunities for customers.
  • Ensure quotations and tenders remain commercially competitive while maintaining profit margins.
  • Prepare detailed tender submissions and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve pricing and product queries.
  • Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.
  • Support the Contracts Manager throughout the quotation and tender process.
  • Monitor market pricing and industry trends to ensure competitiveness.
  • Follow up issued quotations and tenders, recording outcomes and customer feedback.
  • Maintain records of won and lost tenders to support future tender success.
  • Ensure all quotations are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in estimating, quotations, contracts support, sales, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, heating, bathrooms, renewables or the construction industry would be advantageous.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of profitability.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and identifying opportunities.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
