Role Description
Organise, motivate and lead production crew in line with QCDSP targets and KPIs. Achieve production requirements within agreed timescales and costs.
Support Bradford site mission – To manufacture the best quality, great tasting and affordable soft drinks for millions of people every day.
Principal Accountabilities
- Be supportive, act with integrity, show enthusiasm and embrace openness
- Have an understanding of the Princes Performance System (PPS) and maturity matrix, and site progression plans
- Understand and implement lean manufacturing work practices including 5s, AM, RCA to drive continuous improvement activity at site
- Ensure SAP processes are followed to ensure the accurate logging of materials performance
- Provide cover for the Operations Team Leaders and fellow Line Leaders for sickness and holidays
- Manage production crew in line with QCDSP targets and KPIs
- Ensure employees are trained and fully utilised to the optimum skills level as detailed in the skills training matrix, allocating skills where appropriate
- Coach and develop manufacturing teams to adopt and share best practice and guiding principles
- Manage and develop personnel in accordance with HR policies and procedures to maximise job performance and potential, raising concerns regarding under-performing Line Leaders
- Ensure produced quantitative data by shift is accurate and complete, to enable performance and costs to be analysed under QCDSP
- Ensure team maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Maintain effective communications ensuring regular briefings and feedback is provided to the teams keeping them up to date on the business and future developments
- Ensure all aspects of SFDM are used effectively by carrying out meeting effectiveness audits, using actions generated to develop employees
- Ensure adherence to procedures and quality standards and ensure that all production is recorded accurately
- Maintain good housekeeping and high levels of hygiene at all times
- Report any quality problems or issues to the Operations Team Leader
- Follow safe working practices and ensure employees understand and adhere to them
- Record and control variances
- Ensure the site escalation procedure is followed by all participants
- Continually review processes and methods and identify improvements
- In conjunction with the site management team integrate continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of manufacturing
- All employees should carry out their duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which are part of the Integrated management System. Specific responsibilities can be found at section 4.4.1.3 of the Health & Safety Management System
- Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks

General Responsibilities
- Understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing work practices including 5S, AM and problem solving (including root cause analysis), to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site
- Have an understanding of the Princes Performance System (PPS) and the Site Progression Plan
- Ensure all training for direct reports is documented using the appropriate skills matrix.
- You must exercise reasonable skill and care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work and you must not interfere with or obstruct anything provided in the interests of health and safety at work.
- The incumbent should demonstrate behaviours which are in line with the site values & help to improve the Quality, Safety & Environmental culture.
- Support the business in working towards delivering our ethical trading and human rights vision.
- When engaging with internal and external stakeholders (such as consumers, customers or suppliers) maximise any potential opportunities to communicate Princes’ ethical trade and human rights approach.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Knowledge
- Experience of working within an FMCG environment
- Experience of dealing with HR/ people issues (e.g. investigations etc.)
- Food Awareness and Hygiene certified
Skills
- Excellent IT skills, namely Microsoft Excel
- Experience of managing a small team
- Experience of coaching and developing individuals
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks
