Line Marker / Surface Preparation Operative

Location: Ideally close to the M25 (but, not essential)
Work Area: UK Nationwide
Company: Adhere Lining Ltd

Adhere Lining Ltd is a growing line marking and surface preparation contractor working on projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we're looking for another operative to join our team.

Experience in line marking, coatings, or surface preparation would be useful, but it isn't essential. We're more interested in finding the right person: somebody enthusiastic, practical, reliable, and genuinely willing to learn. If you've got a good work ethic, a can-do attitude, and want to learn a specialist trade, we'll provide the training and experience to develop you.

The Role

You'll primarily work within our paint team, carrying out line marking, specialist coatings, and surface preparation on a wide variety of commercial and industrial sites. Our work includes:

  • Car park line marking
  • Warehouse and factory markings
  • Industrial floor coatings
  • Safety markings
  • Playground and sports court markings
  • MMA and specialist coating systems
  • Airless spray applications
  • Surface preparation prior to coating
  • Floor grinding
  • Shot blasting
  • Hydroblasting

There may also be opportunities to work alongside our thermoplastic team when required. The role involves travelling to sites throughout the UK and occasional overnight stays. Some projects are completed outside normal working hours, so flexibility is important.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For

Attitude is more important to us than having a CV full of industry experience. You may already have experience in line marking, construction, groundworks, industrial painting, or another practical role. Equally, you may be looking for an opportunity to learn a specialist trade from the ground up.

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage, but isn't essential:

  • Line marking
  • Industrial painting or coatings
  • Resin flooring
  • MMA systems
  • Airless spraying
  • Floor preparation
  • Grinding
  • Shot blasting
  • Hydroblasting
  • Setting out works from drawings and site measurements
  • Thermoplastic line marking

More importantly, we want somebody who turns up, gets stuck in, listens, and wants to improve. You'll need to take pride in your work, be happy working outdoors and on different sites, and be willing to learn from the experienced people around you.

What You'll Need

  • A full UK driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive company vehicles.
  • A CSCS card would be useful, but isn't essential for the right person.
  • You'll also need to be:
    • Reliable and punctual
    • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
    • Someone with a can-do attitude who is prepared to get stuck in
    • Comfortable working as part of a small team
    • Able to communicate confidently with colleagues and clients on site
    • Willing to travel throughout the UK
    • Flexible around working hours when projects require it
    • Comfortable carrying out physically demanding work
    • Able to work safely and follow site procedures and RAMS
