Role Description
The Line Operator is a part-time, on-site role based in Sherburn In Elmet, focused on supporting the safe and efficient production of haircare and skincare products. In this position, the Line Operator will set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing and filling machinery, ensuring that equipment is running smoothly and in line with production plans. The Line Operator will follow standard operating procedures, maintain clean and organized work areas, complete production and quality records, and collaborate with colleagues to meet output and safety targets. The role also involves participating in training, adhering to health, safety, and GMP standards, and supporting continuous improvement activities on the production line.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate and monitor production or packaging machinery safely and efficiently, with experience in machine operation in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Strong focus on quality control, including conducting visual and basic measurement checks, following GMP standards, and ensuring products meet company and regulatory specifications.
- Effective communication skills to work with supervisors and team members, report issues clearly, and follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, learn new processes and equipment, and adapt to changing production requirements and schedules.
- Basic computer literacy for recording production data, completing electronic logs, and using factory software or handheld devices as required.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and strong time management skills to meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Experience in cosmetics, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is beneficial but not essential; prior work in a regulated or GMP-compliant environment is an advantage.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks, stand for extended periods, and work in a team-oriented, fast-moving production setting.
