Location: Bromborough

Salary: £25,114.96 raising to £26,577.22 after probation period.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday Day shifts – 38 hours per week

Scope

The Line Operator role is to ensure the highest standards of manufacturing, hygiene and housekeeping are maintained throughout the production facility. The role includes manufacturing and hygiene activities as directed by the Manufacturing Manager and Shift Managers, helping to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations.

Role Purpose

Manufacturing Duties

  • Support factory manufacturing activity as required to meet business needs.
  • Operate production equipment within training and competency requirements.
  • Carry out product quality checks in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Assist with material handling and movement of products throughout the production process.
  • Support production changeovers and line preparation activities.
  • Assist with rework and returns. Stripping down, pallets, cases and cartons.
  • Performing remedial activities such as re-labelling
  • Assist with co-packing activities, including packing, labelling, palletising, and product handling.
  • Work flexibly across designated production areas as directed by the Shift Manager.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Follow all Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures.
  • Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture by reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
  • Maintain food safety and product quality standards in all activities.

Hygiene Duties

  • Carry out end-of-production cleaning and sanitation procedures in accordance with site hygiene standards and cleaning schedules.
  • Clean and sanitise production equipment, processing lines, work areas, and ancillary equipment.
  • Complete hygiene documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all cleaning chemicals are used, stored, and handled safely in accordance with site procedures.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks to confirm equipment and production areas meet hygiene standards before production start-up.
  • Report any hygiene, food safety, quality, or equipment concerns to the Shift Manager.
  • Support environmental and waste management activities within the production area.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards at all times.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Experience of industrial cleaning or hygiene operations.
  • Understanding of food safety and GMP requirements.

Working Conditions

This role operates in a food manufacturing environment with regular time on the factory floor and exposure to noise, dust (grain), moving machinery, temperature variation, and manual handling activities. Flexibility is required to support shift teams, critical incidents, shutdowns, trials, and business needs.
