Linen & Accommodation Domestic Assistant

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Linen & Accommodation Domestic Assistant to join our dedicated team in delivering high-quality support services across the Trust. In this important role, you will contribute to providing a safe, clean, welcoming, and person-centred environment for patients, staff, visitors, and residents.

Working across both Linen Services and Staff Accommodation, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and maintaining Trust-owned accommodation properties
• Laundering and distributing linen
• Issuing staff uniforms
• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the department

Responsibilities:

• Work as a team to ensure high standards and efficient service throughout the Linen and accommodation departments.
• Support the Linen team in accordance with agreed procedures, such as working with the agreed stock levels for each ward, loading the required linen stock into the panniers, and moving of loaded panniers.
• Ensure a high standard of cleaning within the Trust accommodation.
• Management of stock under COSHH regulations and maintain stock levels for sundry items required to undertake the tasks.
• Support with issuing/delivering of uniforms.
• Train staff in procedures when they are covering duties.
• When required and after training, use the electric TUG to transport the linen panniers to the wards and departments.
• Carry out ad hoc tasks as requested by the Facilities Manager.
• Respond constructively to variances in pre-determined needs.
• Follow all guidance and training on safe working practices to ensure personal health and safety and that of others, exercising a duty of care.
• Undertake regular and ad hoc training, including yearly infection control refresher, manual handling refresher, and fire safety lectures, and any other training relevant to the role.
• Carry out small ad hoc maintenance as mentioned in summary.
• Daily checks (and before use) of all equipment and area in a clean and tidy state.
• Support Linen with regular cleaning of panniers.
• Replace all equipment after use and store securely in laundry/linen room.
