A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LINEN PORTER
As a Linen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests enjoy a clean, comfortable and welcoming stay. Working closely with the Housekeeping team, you'll be responsible for maintaining linen supplies across the hotel, supporting room attendants and ensuring back-of-house areas remain organised and efficient.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivering clean linen, towels and guest supplies to housekeeping stores and guest floors.
- Collecting, sorting and preparing used linen for collection by the laundry provider.
- Maintaining housekeeping cupboards, stock rooms and storage areas to a high standard.
- Assisting room attendants with large deliveries, extra guest requests and movement of equipment.
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Supporting the wider housekeeping operation to ensure guest rooms and public areas are maintained to brand standards.
- Following all health & safety procedures and safe manual handling practices.
- Helping create a positive, efficient and team-focused working environment.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a physically active role, including lifting, carrying and moving linen and equipment safely.
- A strong work ethic and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, hotels, cleaning or a similar role would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
