Job Title: Lineside Engineer

Location: Broughton

Duration: 6 Months

Work Type: Onsite

Work hours: Night shift - 30% shift allowance on top of hourly rate

Monday to Thursday 8:45pm – 6:00am

Job Description

Missions and Objective:

  • Accompanies the production team / Autonomous Production Team (APT).
  • Supports in identifying, analyzing, and solving technical issues not directly manageable by the Operators & First Line Manager (FLM).
  • Provides an E2E perspective at the shop floor level within the production team / APT with the client.
  • Supports continuous production enablement by efficiently utilizing available resources & knowledge.
  • Contributes to the Operational Excellence targets within her/his area by adhering to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • Provides, creates, and establishes necessary work document(s) to shop floor technicians to unblock lead time impact and unexpected workload.
  • Ensures interface management to relevant support functions needed.

Key Deliverables

Input

  • Notification (e.g. NC, Email, eLog book entry...) of a production issue.
  • Logistic kit available at production team & current work order.

Outputs

  • Technical analysis & enriched documents for Assembly Anomalies (AM) and NonConformities (NC).
  • Design Query Note (DQN) including process & equipment issues (disruptions/deviations) Rework Work orders.
  • Outstanding work management.
  • Technical information (search for drawings, references, parts, tooling, documentation).

Main Tasks/activities

Disruption Management-Daily / on shift line side:

  • Support in identifying NC on the shop floor.
  • Support in assessing the need for creating NCs and NC Notifications.
  • Support on filling & describing the NC form by providing all relevant information and supporting on solving the NC.
  • Support on following up the NC process and push for containment and corrective action.
  • Support of supply chain quality management by providing information, data, excerpts etc. for further NC management.

Continuous Improvement

  • Daily / on shift line side, support for continuous improvement:
  • Support on identifying issues in production as well as problems not solvable by the FLM and operators and escalate/request support to the Work Prep (PE), Line Balancing (PPE), Maintenance, MAP & OSW or support function roles.
  • Support for the analysis of the industrial systems and processes to assess their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support on the Work Improvement Proposal (WIP) as well as on the elimination of waste (LEAN).
  • Support is given on the process validation form (PVF) and failure analysis (FA).
  • On demand taking over the NC Leader function in the COM-17 process.

Industrial Assets

  • Daily / on shift line side, support on industrial assets:
  • Support on the request for repair and the creation of specific requests for small tools.
  • Support on writing the specification for the creation of new jigs and tools as well as the modification or improvement of existing jigs and tools and their calibration.

Outstanding work management

  • Daily / on shift line side support on outstanding work:
  • Support on filling the template for the outstanding work as well as.
  • Support in assessing the outstanding work request with the Multifunctional Team (MFT).
  • Support (if not in the same SAP system) in securing that the attested outstanding work template will be returned to the requester.

Work order management

  • Daily / on shift line side, support on work order management:
  • Support on flagging blocked work orders so that it can be discussed at the PPC (Production Place Control (in AI&AH))/Level 2 (in ADS) Meeting.
  • Further support is given to the Production to prioritize the Execution of the Serial and Rework Work Order if linked to NC, Concession or Blocking Point.

Environnement, Health and safety-Daily / on shift line side, support on "EHS":

  • Support on making EH&S rules transparent on the shop floor.
  • Support on ensuring EH&S standards are applied on the station.
  • Support on cascading the EH&S requirements to the shop floor.
  • Support on identifying and solving Near Misses.

Quality

  • Daily / on shift line side, support on "Quality":
  • Support in ensuring that production processes and standards are applied on the station.
  • Support in ensuring that quality standards are applied on the station.

Logistics

  • Daily / on shift line side, support on "Logistics":
  • Support the prioritization of pulling materials related to Rework Work Order to the respective executing station.
