Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Linesman role based in Oswestry. The Linesman will install, maintain, and repair LV and HV overhead power lines, including poles, conductors, and associated equipment. Daily responsibilities include:

The role involves performing routine inspections, fault finding, and emergency call-out repairs to restore power safely and efficiently. The Linesman will adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures, complete required documentation, and collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to deliver projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of electricity and power distribution systems, including LV and HV overhead networks.
- Experience working with heavy equipment and tools used in line construction, maintenance, and repair.
- Relevant experience in substations or electrical infrastructure environments, with an understanding of associated safety protocols.
- Valid CDL Class A or equivalent license (or ability to obtain), with competence in operating commercial vehicles for site work.
- Previous experience as a linesman, cable jointer, or similar utility field role, ideally within the UK power sector.
- Formal electrical or utility-related qualification (e.g., NVQ, apprenticeship, or trade certification) preferred.
- Ability to work at heights, in varying weather conditions, and undertake physically demanding tasks safely.
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
- Effective communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a crew.
- Willingness to participate in standby or emergency response rota as required.
