About The Role

Hexegic is seeking a highly skilled Linux Engineer to join their dynamic team in London. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of Linux-based applications deployed within classified environments. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance the infrastructure, contributing to critical projects that require a high level of security clearance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on sensitive projects that impact national security and require a proactive approach to system management and security.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience and deep understanding of Linux infrastructure, particularly with Rocky, CentOS, and RedHat distributions.
  • Proven experience working within security-cleared environments, with active DV clearance being essential.
  • Strong interest and background in software development, DevOps practices, and automation.
  • Knowledge of system security best practices, including vulnerability management and security patching.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure the stability, security, and performance of Linux-based applications within classified environments.
  • Participate actively in project workshops, contributing to planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee system infrastructure, including deployment, configuration, and monitoring in security-sensitive settings.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with development and security teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize systems, and implement updates.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Stay updated with the latest security threats, patches, and technological advancements relevant to Linux systems.
