About Us
We are an ambitious FinTech startup building secure, high-performance Linux infrastructure for the banking and financial services sector. Our mission is to create resilient, scalable, and secure platforms using open-source technologies, automation, and API-driven services.
Unlike many organisations, we are going to design, build, and operate our own Linux infrastructure from the ground up using open-source technologies. We do not rely on Microsoft technologies or public cloud platforms. Our focus is on delivering robust, secure infrastructure for financial services through engineering excellence and innovation.
The Role
We are looking for a talented and passionate Linux Infrastructure & API Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you will help design, build, secure, and maintain our Linux infrastructure while developing API integrations that connect our platform with banking systems, financial applications, and internal services.
As an early member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, shape our infrastructure architecture, and work closely with the founders to build a world-class platform from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure.
- Deploy, configure, and support Linux servers and services.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs.
- Automate infrastructure using Bash, Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Build and manage containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement secure, highly available, and resilient infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor system health, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot Linux operating systems, networking, storage, and application issues.
- Implement security hardening and operational best practices.
- Produce technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions for financial services.

Essential Skills
- Strong Linux administration experience (Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux, RHEL, or similar).
- Excellent command-line and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong Bash and/or Python scripting experience.
- Experience developing or integrating REST APIs.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.

- Experience working within Financial Services, Banking, or FinTech.
- Knowledge of payment systems or banking integrations.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MariaDB.
- Experience with NGINX or other reverse proxies.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.
- Experience implementing Linux security hardening and compliance standards.
