Linux Operations Engineer

Linux | Infrastructure | Server Operations | VPN

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract – Up to £45,000 + Bonus
Greater Manchester – Hybrid (2 days onsite)

We’re working with a Manchester-based technology company that is looking for a Linux Operations Engineer to join its Operations team on an initial 12-month contract.

You’ll be working hands-on with Linux production infrastructure, servers, and VPN platforms, helping keep business-critical systems secure, stable, and performing reliably.

The company operates data platforms used by some of the world’s leading brands, giving you the opportunity to work with production infrastructure at scale and play a key role in keeping these services running.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing and supporting Linux-based production infrastructure
  • Supporting dedicated and virtual servers across the environment
  • Troubleshooting availability, performance, and reliability issues
  • Monitoring systems and investigating logs, metrics, and alerts
  • Deploying, configuring, and patching servers
  • Identifying vulnerabilities and managing infrastructure risks
  • Supporting VPN and data capture platforms
  • Helping ensure systems remain secure, stable, and appropriately scaled
  • Working closely with the wider Operations team to resolve issues and improve reliability
