You know Linux inside out. You’ve supported production estates, automated the repetitive work, and know that reliable infrastructure is built through good engineering rather than crossed fingers.

You’ll join a small, experienced team responsible for Linux infrastructure that underpins a business where systems need to be dependable. You’ll improve automation, support developers, and help evolve the environment towards container platforms, Kubernetes, OpenShift and GitOps.
This is a hands-on engineering role with genuine scope. You’ll work across on-premise, virtualised and containerised environments, contribute to technical decisions, and see the direct effect of your work on how quickly and reliably software reaches production.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning and improving Linux environments across development, test, QA and production
- Automating infrastructure and operational tasks with Ansible, Terraform, Python and Bash
- Improving build pipelines, CI/CD and the tooling developers use every day
- Working with development and infrastructure teams to solve practical platform problems
- Supporting the rollout and operation of container platforms, including Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Helping plan capacity and resilience across the wider estate
- Writing clear documentation that makes systems easier to run and improve

What you’ll need
- Strong Linux engineering or systems administration experience, ideally with RHEL or CentOS
- Hands-on automation experience with Ansible, plus Python and/or Bash
- A solid grasp of core networking: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing and firewalls
- Experience using Git and supporting or working with CI/CD pipelines
Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm and ArgoCD would all be useful, but you don’t need every one. What matters is that you’ve built and supported robust Linux infrastructure, enjoy automating it, and want to grow into deeper DevOps and platform engineering work.
