Opportunity

Progress your career at a global Fintech solutions provider.

About the Role

As a Linux Systems and Data Centre Engineer, you'll operate and improve production Linux environments, managing Ubuntu fleets and LXD/LXC container platforms. You'll provide L3 incident support across systems, containers, networking, and storage, restoring services within SLAs and driving post-incident reviews to improve reliability.

You'll also take ownership of datacentre operations in Slough, covering server installation, rack and stack, cabling, optics, power planning, out-of-band management, inventory, and hardware replacements. You'll coordinate with vendors, carriers, and datacentre partners.

The role involves day-to-day network operations across switches and firewalls, including VLANs, ACLs, LAGs, and basic routing, working closely with Network Engineering on changes. You'll automate infrastructure and operational processes using Chef for configuration management and Terraform for AWS Infrastructure as Code, developing reliable tooling for deployments, configuration, pre-change checks, and validation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
