About you
You’re a detail-obsessed writer with a genuine passion for cars. You take pride in accuracy, clarity and craft, and you understand that great listings don’t just describe vehicles, they build confidence, tell a story and drive buyer action.
You’re naturally curious and research-driven, comfortable working with technical information and verifying details from multiple sources. You manage your time well, write at pace without sacrificing quality, and care about consistency and standards.
About the role
As a Listing Writer, your mission is to craft detailed, insightful and persuasive auction listings that captivate our audience and drive sales. You’ll be responsible for the written presentation of high-value and technically complex vehicles that help define the Car & Classic brand.
You’ll maintain an excellent standard of written English and technical accuracy while working to deadlines and volume targets. This role combines editorial judgement, automotive knowledge and sales storytelling.
About us
Car & Classic is one of the largest automotive marketplaces in the world. Launched in 2005 but under new, VC-backed ownership since 2018 and on an exciting double-digit growth journey to bring classic vehicle transactions online.
Our culture is incredibly important to us. We’re lucky enough to have built the team from scratch with a focus on enjoying the day-to-day, diversity, inclusion and high performance. We’re a fully remote team of builders, dreamers, and petrolheads using tech to connect enthusiasts with the machines that move them. If you’re driven by passion and curious about shaping the future of classic motoring online, you’ll fit right in.
We’re looking for a Listings Writer who has good, relevant experience and wants to make their mark in a rapid-growth business where they can make a real difference whilst enjoying the environment and culture.
Role and responsibilities:
- 📦 Throughput target: You’ll individually contribute 135 auction listings per month.
- 📈 Listing performance: Your listings perform on par with C&C's average sale rate.
- ⏱️ Pipeline momentum: Maintain pipeline momentum, with no jobs spending more than 48 hours without a valid reason.
- 🧠 Technical integrity: Maintain a high level of technical accuracy, leaving no details to chance and proactively approaching team members and vendors when information is lacking.
- 🔍 Accuracy & risk control: You’ll have identified and acted upon any potential for misdescription/misleading content or language used in listings through cross-departmental collaboration and effective proofreading of your own work and others.
- ✍️ Editorial standard: Commitment to a high standard of written English, adhering closely to C&C’s tone of voice and style guides.
- 🗂️ CRM discipline: Impeccable CRM hygiene, with all required fields filled in, allowing team performance and form submission trends to be tracked accurately.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
