Compensation: £200-£400 per day, depending on experience

- Founded in 2012 with the sole objective of empowering schools to have the subject knowledge to teach English effectively through the use of quality children’s literature.

The role…
As a Literacy Consultant, you will be responsible for helping member schools and organisations improve their Literacy/English curriculum by delivering Literacy Tree’s whole-school curriculum through launch INSETs, consultancy and staff meetings supporting planning, coaching teachers and providing feedback to educators.
You’ll need to…
- Have 5+ years school experience including 2+ years leadership team experience
- Have successful experience delivering training in primary settings
- Have excellent knowledge of the Primary English National Curriculum
- Have in-depth knowledge of pedagogy and how children learn
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge in children’s literature
- Be extremely confident in presenting
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Be based in London and eligible to live and work in the UK

Training and consultancy…
- Preparing and delivering INSETs, training and staff meetings (in-person and remote)
- Modelling aspirational teaching, team teaching, observing lessons and advising on how to improve the quality of their teaching
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Literacy Tree platform and resources, confidently modelling their effective use to colleagues and in school settings
- Operating as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to school consultancy
- Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting school-consultant relationships
Curriculum support…
- Providing planning and assessment support using your knowledge and expertise in the area
Other…
- Promoting the ethics of the company through training and any promotional events
- Travelling where necessary to undertake school consultancy/INSET (mainly in London and the home counties. However, as per company requirements you may be needed to travel to other locations inside and outside of the UK.
- Stay up to date on best practices in literacy instruction through continuous professional development and research
- It would be great if you…
- Have a strong understanding of using Literacy Tree
- Have knowledge of the moderation process

Flexible working…
- Working days can be offered on a fixed term contract on a regular, flexible basis with a minimum of 4 days per month on average to be guaranteed. Or as a casual worker on an irregular, flexible basis, based on the needs of the worker and the Company. Exact working days to be agreed in advance.
