Litigation & Insolvency Solicitor – 2+ PQE

Location: London

Working pattern: Flexible/hybrid options available

Experience: 2 + PQE

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Are you an experienced Litigation & Insolvency Solicitor looking for a role where you can take ownership of your work, develop your client base and play a key role in growing a specialist practice?

We are working with an established law firm seeking a 2+ PQE solicitor with experience across commercial litigation and insolvency to join its London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys complex, contentious work and wants the opportunity to develop their own caseload, build client relationships and help shape the future direction of the practice.

The role

You will manage a varied caseload of contentious matters, with a particular focus on commercial litigation and insolvency-related disputes. Your work may include:

  • Commercial and contractual disputes
  • Insolvency-related litigation
  • Claims involving directors, shareholders and businesses
  • Claims by or against liquidators, administrators and trustees
  • Director disqualification proceedings
  • Debt recovery and enforcement
  • Contentious corporate and personal insolvency
  • Restructuring and turnaround-related disputes
  • Advising businesses, directors, creditors and insolvency practitioners

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Alongside managing your own caseload, you will have the opportunity to develop existing client relationships, generate new business and contribute to the growth of the firm's litigation and insolvency offering.

What are they looking for?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years' PQE in commercial litigation, insolvency or a combination of both
  • Strong experience managing their own contentious caseload
  • A solid understanding of commercial and insolvency law
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to client advice
  • Strong communication and client-care skills
  • A proactive approach to business development
  • The ambition to develop their career and take on greater responsibility

Experience across both litigation and insolvency would be particularly attractive, although candidates with a strong background in either area and a genuine interest in developing the other are encouraged to apply.

Why consider this opportunity?

This is more than simply a role managing an existing caseload. It offers the opportunity to build your profile, develop a client following and play a meaningful role in growing the firm's litigation and insolvency practice.

You will have the support of an established legal team and access to complementary expertise across areas including commercial and property law, while retaining the autonomy to develop your own practice.

A strong existing client following or network of contacts would be a significant advantage, but the opportunity could equally suit an ambitious solicitor who has the drive and commercial approach to develop one.

A competitive package is available, with salary expectations considered according to experience and the value you can bring to the practice.

If you're an experienced Litigation & Insolvency Solicitor in London looking for greater autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to build something, we'd be keen to hear from you.
