Litigation Associate

London | £164,000 - £190,000 | 3-5 PQE | Hybrid

Contentious Tax | Copyright | Data Protection | Defamation | Privacy | Breach of Confidence

An international disputes practice is looking to appoint a Litigation Associate with 3-5 years' post-qualification experience, with particular interest in lawyers who have experience in contentious tax matters and disputes involving copyright, data protection, defamation, privacy and breach of confidence.

The role offers exposure to complex, high-value commercial disputes, with the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators across a broad range of contentious matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on complex commercial disputes, with particular exposure to contentious tax and disputes involving copyright, data protection, defamation, privacy and breach of confidence.
  • Managing matters through the full litigation lifecycle, including pre-action work, injunctions, pleadings, applications, hearings and disclosure.
  • Conducting detailed legal research and preparing witness and expert evidence.
  • Supporting trial preparation, case strategy, client communications and mediation.
  • Handling complex arbitrations alongside broader commercial litigation matters.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales with 3-5 years' PQE.
  • Experience with contentious tax matters and disputes involving copyright, data protection, defamation, privacy and/or breach of confidence is preferred.
  • Strong experience in complex commercial litigation, ideally gained within a leading disputes practice.
  • Experience acting for both claimants and defendants.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a solid academic background.
