A property and development business is seeking a commercially minded senior lawyer to lead its legal function during a period of transformation.
The business is looking to simplify legal processes and bring greater control over a portfolio of complex disputes and building safety matters. This is a highly visible role with direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape the future legal strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on all major legal matters across the business.
- Manage a portfolio of high-value disputes and building safety claims.
- Review and rationalise the external legal panel.
- Reduce reliance on external counsel and improve value for money.
- Provide pragmatic, commercial advice to senior stakeholders.
- Build and develop the in-house legal team over time.
- Support risk management, governance and strategic decision-making.

Candidate Profile
- Experienced senior lawyer, Head of Legal or General Counsel.
- Strong disputes and litigation management experience.
- Comfortable managing external counsel and legal budgets.
- Commercial, pragmatic and decisive in approach.
- Able to influence at board and executive level.
- Property, construction or development sector experience would be advantageous.
