Job Title: Litigation Executive
Salary: £33,094.91 per annum
Location: Telford or Stafford
Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Litigation Executive to join our Legal Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in protecting the organisation's financial and operational interests while supporting our social purpose.
Working closely with the Legal Services Manager and Principal Solicitor, you'll provide expert litigation support and legal advice across a broad range of housing and landlord-related matters.
Day in the Life of a Litigation Executive
No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. You'll:
- Manage your own diverse caseload, including debt recovery, rent possession claims, complex tenancy breach and anti-social behaviour cases, and housing disrepair matters, under the supervision of the Group’s Principal Solicitor.
- Support litigation affecting the Group and its subsidiaries by preparing court documentation, interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements.
- Ensure all litigation activities comply with relevant legislation and the Civil Procedure Rules.
- Instruct and liaise with external Solicitors and Barristers where required.
- Ensure legal activities align with the standards set by the Regulator of Social Housing and Housing Ombudsman guidance.
- Provide expert advice and, where appropriate, deliver training across the organisation on housing law, landlord and tenant matters, and litigation-related issues.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a confident and professional individual with strong legal knowledge and excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a Law Degree
- Have experience of litigation and advocacy
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Adobe and generally computer literate
- Have strong drafting skills, particularly relating to statements of case and witness statements.
- Have the ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise competing demands.
- Previous experience of working within a local authority or Registered provider of Social Housing is desirable
