Job Title

We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Litigation team, providing high-quality administrative and legal support to Fee Earners and helping to ensure that client matters are progressed efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to Fee Earners within the Litigation team
  • Manage and progress client matters accurately and efficiently using the firm's case management system
  • Open, organise, maintain and archive legal files and supporting documentation
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of legal correspondence and documentation
  • Prepare letters and other client correspondence using audio typing, word processing and digital dictation
  • Manage Fee Earners' diaries, including arranging client appointments, meetings and other commitments
  • Deal professionally and efficiently with incoming telephone calls, client enquiries and third-party communications
  • Monitor and manage incoming emails, post, photocopying and general administrative tasks
  • Prepare court documentation, including electronic bundles and other documents required for hearings
  • Assist with the preparation of client bills and maintain accurate account ledgers
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with internal procedures, professional standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all client and firm information
  • Provide support to other Legal Assistants, Fee Earners and the wider management team when required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or similar role within a Litigation department
  • Good understanding of legal terminology and litigation processes
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills
  • A professional, approachable and client-focused manner
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience using a legal case management system would be advantageous
  • Experience with audio typing or digital dictation would be beneficial
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team

The Person

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and proactive, with a strong eye for detail and a genuine commitment to providing excellent client service.

You will be comfortable working in a busy Litigation environment, able to manage your own workload and confident dealing with clients, Fee Earners, courts and third parties professionally.
