My client is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their busy Litigation department in Bexleyheath, Greater London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous legal support experience, or a Law graduate looking to develop their career, to work alongside experienced fee earners on a varied caseload while gaining exposure to a broad range of litigation matters.

The Role

You will provide administrative and legal support to the Litigation team, including:

  • Opening new client files and completing conflict, identification and verification checks
  • Assisting with client enquiries by telephone, email and in person
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meeting arrangements
  • Preparing attendance notes and maintaining accurate file records
  • Drafting correspondence, legal documents, applications and court bundles
  • Maintaining and updating the firm's case management system
  • Processing accounts forms relating to client monies
  • Scanning, filing and archiving documents in accordance with firm procedures
  • Supporting fee earners with the progression of litigation matters
  • Ensuring compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Administrator is advantageous
  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification would be beneficial
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
  • Proactive, reliable and eager to learn
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
