The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Litigation Manager to lead our Litigation team and oversee legal recovery activity across both English and Scottish jurisdictions.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on litigation expertise with people leadership, taking ownership of complex debt recovery cases while coaching and developing a high-performing team. Working closely with senior stakeholders and external solicitors, you'll drive successful recovery outcomes, manage legal risk, and continuously improve our litigation processes.
If you're a results-driven, experienced litigation professional with a passion for developing high-performing teams, influencing decisions and making a measurable impact, we'd love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Litigation Team, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the end-to-end litigation process, making informed decisions on legal action, enforcement activity and debt recovery strategies, ensuring legal action is pursued only where there is a clear likelihood of return or a need to minimise wholesale cost exposure.
- Partner with external solicitors across both jurisdictions to manage cases through to resolution, including witness statement preparation, settlements, mediation and court hearings.
- Represent the company at trials and final hearings in both jurisdictions to recover overdue debts.
- Provide expert guidance on litigation strategy, legal risk and commercial outcomes to senior management.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to improve processes, performance and recovery outcomes.
- Build strong relationships across the business, providing clear updates and insight on case progress and results.
What Success Looks Like
- Leading a specialist Litigation team and playing a key role in shaping debt recovery strategy.
- Taking ownership of complex, high-value cases across England and Scotland, managing litigation activity from initial review through to successful resolution.
- Building great relationships with senior leaders and external legal experts, providing trusted advice on litigation strategy, commercial risk and recovery opportunities.
- Developing and growing a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and professional development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
