Paralegal Role in Construction, Engineering and Procurement

A leading UK law firm is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join its highly regarded Construction, Engineering and Procurement team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their legal career within a busy contentious construction practice. Previous litigation paralegal experience would be advantageous, but is not essential. The firm is particularly interested in bright, motivated candidates with strong academics and a genuine interest in construction law.

  • Assisting solicitors with the day-to-day management of construction disputes
  • Managing key dates and court/adjudication deadlines
  • Liaising with clients, barristers, experts, and other parties
  • Assisting with drafting advice relating to construction disputes, defects, and building/fire safety matters
  • Supporting adjudication and arbitration proceedings
  • Undertaking legal research and monitoring relevant legislation and case law

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong academic background to undergraduate level
  • LPC or SQE1 advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn
  • Previous litigation/paralegal experience advantageous but not essential

Position Details

The position is based in Leeds with a minimum of four days per week in the office, with Friday typically the team's working-from-home day.

Career Progression

There is genuine scope for progression, with previous paralegals having used experience gained within the team as a springboard to securing training contracts and pupillage.
