Referment is working with an established regional law firm seeking a Litigation Solicitor to join its property disputes practice. The role combines technically varied contentious property work with direct client responsibility, supported by experienced senior lawyers.
You will advise commercial organisations, landlords and private clients on disputes that can be high value and complex. The work spans court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution, with scope to strengthen your market profile through relevant business development.
The Role
- Advise commercial landlords and tenants on covenant breaches, business lease renewals under the 1954 Act, dilapidations, service charges and forfeiture.
- Act for residential landlords on tenancy enforcement and County Court possession claims.
- Handle real-property disputes involving boundaries, easements, restrictive covenants and adverse possession.
- Represent clients in High Court and County Court litigation, arbitration, mediation and other forms of dispute resolution.
- Support colleagues working on commercial property and residential conveyancing matters where disputes expertise is needed.
- Build professional relationships and contribute to business-development activity.

What We're Looking For
- A qualified solicitor with one to five years' post-qualification experience.
- Previous experience handling property disputes and sound knowledge of contentious property law.
- The ability to manage files independently while using senior support appropriately.
- Commercial judgement, clear communication and a strong approach to client care.
- A collaborative working style and an interest in developing professional relationships.
