About The Role

We're looking for a Solicitor/Associate to join our Band 1-ranked Agricultural Litigation team in our Bristol office. Working closely with our partners and experienced colleagues, you'll become part of a friendly, collaborative team with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of agricultural litigation matters. This is a great opportunity for a solicitor looking to join an established team, build on their existing experience, and continue to develop professionally.

Day to day, you will have a varied caseload and responsibilities which includes:

  • Advising farmers, landowners, and agri-businesses on a wide range of litigious disputes
  • Assisting with farm partnership, inheritance, agricultural property, contractual, negligence, and nuisance disputes
  • Supporting partners and associates on complex and high-profile litigation matters
  • Managing smaller cases independently under supervision
  • Developing your personal knowledge and expertise within the agricultural sector
  • Supporting the team in developing and maintaining relationships within the agricultural community. Ensuring they receive a first-class service at all times
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm and contributing to the wider Agriculture team

Whilst this role is based in Bristol, there will be the opportunity for you to work with other fee earners based at our other offices.

About You

We’re extremely proud of the relationship we’ve built with our clients and referrers, being recognised as their trusted legal partner. It’s important to us that you have the right blend of skills to service their needs and develop new relationships:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2-5 years’ PQE or considerable pre-qualification experience within a litigation team
  • Strong litigation experience, ideally including property litigation, with agricultural or rural experience being desirable but not essential
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical, commercial advice
  • Confident negotiator with strong advocacy and communication skills
  • Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of budgets and targets
  • Ability to support the development of business within your team contributing to the team and firm success
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using case management systems
