Pathway Legal is working with an established general practice firm to recruit a Litigation Solicitor for its busy Belfast office.
The firm has approximately 15 solicitors, led by two Directors, and provides a broad range of legal services across Northern Ireland.
You will join an established litigation team, working alongside a Director and six other solicitors, with a focus on plaintiff personal injury work.
The role would ideally suit a solicitor with 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience, although newly qualified solicitors with relevant litigation experience gained during their training will also be considered.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing personal injury matters from initial instruction through to settlement or court proceedings.
- Handling road traffic accident, employers’ liability and public liability claims.
- Advising clients and keeping them informed throughout their cases.
- Gathering and reviewing evidence, including medical reports and supporting documentation.
- Drafting correspondence, pleadings and other court documents.
- Liaising with counsel, medical experts, insurers and other solicitors.
- Preparing matters for hearing and assisting with settlement negotiations.
- Maintaining accurate files and managing deadlines effectively.
- Working closely with colleagues on more complex matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
