MacIntyre Law is seeking an ambitious NQ+ Litigation Solicitor to work closely with the Managing Director by taking responsibility for day-to-day casework. The purpose of the role is to provide effective support across the Managing Director’s litigation caseload, enabling the Managing Director to focus on the management and development of the firm.
The role offers varied work, direct client contact and the opportunity to develop under the supervision of the Managing Director.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist with a mixed caseload of litigation matters. Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:
- Progressing matters and managing day-to-day casework under the Managing Director’s supervision;
- Preparing correspondence, advice, pleadings, witness statements and settlement agreements;
- Reviewing evidence and conducting legal research;
- Managing court and Employment Tribunal deadlines;
- Advocacy and attending Court;
- Preparing instructions to counsel and liaising with counsel, experts and other third parties;
- Communicating with clients and providing regular case updates;
- Preparing cases for hearings, conferences, mediation and settlement negotiations;
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised matter files; and
- Supporting effective billing, time recording and file management.

The caseload may include:
- Commercial and contractual disputes;
- Civil and Property disputes;
- Private Client disputes;
- Consumer disputes;
- Debt recovery and enforcement proceedings;
- Other civil claims.
About You
Applications are welcomed from solicitors who are newly qualified or have post-qualification experience in litigation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales;
- Relevant litigation experience and be able to work to strict and tight deadlines;
- Strong legal drafting and research skills;
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail;
- The ability to progress a busy caseload efficiently;
- A practical and commercially focused approach;
- Strong communication and client-care skills;
- The judgement to work independently within an appropriate level of supervision; and
- A proactive, reliable and collaborative working style.
