Litigation Solicitor (NQ–2 PQE)

Nixon McQuade are currently working in partnership with a highly regarded National law firm based in Belfast City Centre, who are seeking to recruit a Litigation Solicitor at Newly Qualified to 2 years PQE.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a junior solicitor to join a well established national law firm, acting on behalf of major insurers and corporate clients. The successful candidate will benefit from exposure to high quality, complex litigation matters, as well as structured training, mentoring, and long-term career progression.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a busy and growing defence insurance team, working across a broad range of litigation matters. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of defence insurance litigation files from inception to resolution
  • Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and legal documentation
  • Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
  • Attending court hearings, mediations, and settlement meetings as required
  • Working closely with senior solicitors and partners on more complex and high value claims
  • Ensuring files are progressed efficiently, in line with internal procedures and client service standards

The Person

Candidates should be motivated, detail oriented, and keen to develop their career within insurance litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Newly Qualified to 5 years PQE solicitor
  • Previous experience in defence insurance litigation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive and professional approach to client service
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn within a team environment
