Live Events Manager

We are looking for an experienced and driven Live Events Manager to join the B2B Events team and take ownership of delivering world-class trade shows, conferences and product launches across Europe.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and takes pride in flawless event execution from concept through to close. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, creative agencies, technical production suppliers, and venue partners to bring our events to life — on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

You should bring a demonstrable understanding of AV and technical production is essential, as you will be deeply involved in the technical delivery of events you attend, however you will also manage many smaller events that you do not attend. We expect you will manage c20-25 events during a calendar year, with travel to a small number of EU countries as required.

You will:

Event Planning & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of European trade shows, conferences and product launches, managing project plans, timelines, budgets and stakeholder requirements.
  • Coordinate venues, contractors, show organisers and internal teams, overseeing build, live delivery and breakdown to ensure every event meets brand standards and stakeholder expectations.

AV & Technical Production

  • Lead AV and technical production from briefing and specification through to on-site delivery, working with stand builders, technical crews and internal product specialists.
  • Review technical drawings, production schedules and rigging plans; ensure safe, compliant delivery and manage Sony B2B Events inventory in the UK.

Budget & Supplier Management

  • Own event budgets and reporting, maintaining accurate trackers and ensuring purchase orders and invoices are processed on time.
  • Source, negotiate and manage agencies, suppliers and production partners, delivering value for money without compromising quality or brand integrity.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships across marketing, sales, product and senior leadership, providing clear, timely updates on event plans, progress, risks and decisions.
  • Manage expectations, proactively resolve issues and confidently present event updates and post-event reports to senior stakeholders.

ROI Measurement & Reporting

  • Define event objectives and KPIs aligned with business goals, and collect and analyse performance data including leads, attendee engagement and brand impact.
  • Produce post-event reports with actionable recommendations, helping to strengthen ROI frameworks and drive continuous improvement across the events programme.

You will bring:

Essential

  • Some proven experience in event management across Europe within a technology/B2B industries
  • Excellent knowledge of AV and technical production in live event environments
  • Demonstrable experience managing event budgets of up to six figures
  • Experience briefing, negotiating with and managing creative agencies and production suppliers
  • Experience producing post-event ROI reports and presenting findings to senior audiences
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Europe, including extended periods during event delivery

Desirable

  • Additional European language (French, Spanish, Italian etc.)
  • Experience working with or for a global Broadcast, AV or consumer electronics brand
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting in an events context
  • Interest in the theories and processes of design
