Company Description

Home Instead Swindon & Vale of White Horse are a well-established, award-winning home care provider, supporting older people to live well and independently in the place they love most - their own home. We are proud to be a CQC ‘Outstanding’ rated provider, delivering exceptional care across Swindon, Highworth, Faringdon, the Vale of White Horse, and surrounding villages.

Job Description

Are you a live-in carer looking for a new client? Are you wanting to work for an Outstanding company who really care?!

We are looking for a Live-in Care Assistant to support one of our current clients whose needs are changing.

She is a really lovely lady and she lives with Dementia, so experience in dementia would be beneficial.

This would be a slightly unusual placement in that the client is only requiring support Thursday - Sunday, every week. Due to this, it could be a client where one live-in carer could do all the days and no rotation would necessarily be required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This lady has 2 sons who live in Swindon and visit regularly, and in the days we are not there, one of her son's will be there to support her.

The support would involve general companionship, shopping, home help, medication support, and continence support.

She is independent with showering, though may need some prompting to have this. She really enjoys listening to music, visiting local garden centres, and doing some jigsaw puzzles/painting.

Although this placement would be in a village, this is very well connected to Faringdon and Swindon via bus routes, and there are a lot of things going on in the village. Someone who drives with their own vehicle would be beneficial but not mandatory for this placement.
