Company Description
Home Instead Swindon & Vale of White Horse are a well-established, award-winning home care provider, supporting older people to live well and independently in the place they love most - their own home. We are proud to be a CQC ‘Outstanding’ rated provider, delivering exceptional care across Swindon, Highworth, Faringdon, the Vale of White Horse, and surrounding villages.
Job Description
Are you a live in carer looking for a new client? Are you wanting to work for an Outstanding company who really care?!
We are looking for a new Live in Carer to join the Swindon team and support a long standing client of ours. We have supported her for many years but her needs are changing and is now in need of live in care. This is a lady who lives with MS and needs support with personal care, moving & handling, medication and uses a speedy cath. She also would like support with her IT as she is partially sighted.
The role will involve meal preparation and general home help. She also has a cat, so the live in carer would need to be ok with animals. You will also have a visit 4 times a day with one of our hourly CarePros to support with moving & handling and personal care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This placement does require a lot of moving and handling due to her needs. This client has a lot of appointments and likes to go out, so the live in carer also needs to have a full driving licence. The client has an adapted car for her wheelchair for you to use when going out together. She does have a son who lives with her but is often away due to college.
Due to the client's requirements and appointments, it is a mandatory requirement to have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
