Are you a compassionate and proactive Live-in Carer/Support Worker/Personal Assistant looking for a rewarding, community-focused role?
Join Paragon Home Healthcare and support a client living with a spinal cord injury (SCI) in his own home in London SE1. This must-not-robustly a task-based care role, but instead focuses on:
- Encouraging independence
- Building routine
- Supporting access to the community
Ideal candidates have a positive, “can-do” attitude, enjoy motivating others, building rapport, and providing calm, consistent support.
Full training is provided, with ongoing assistance from our nurse-led clinical and care team.
👤 About the Client
Our client is a friendly and independent gentleman:
- Previously lived and worked internationally (backup as a hair stylist)
- Socially engaging and previously active (incl. sports, outdoors)
- Focused on rebuilding structure, getting out more, and retaining a sense of normalcy
- Self-sufficient where possible, benefiting most from support rather than task-based direction
- Enjoys walks, day trips, and values a calm, respectful, capable approach

📆 Pay, Hours & Rewards
Job Type: Live-in care Pay: £152.18 per day
Bonus: Up to £400, structured as follows:
- £150 paid in your first paycheck
- £250 upon successful completion of probation
Rota: Live-in placement schedule will be confirmed based on care package requirements.

🫶 Main Responsibilities
Support with:
- Access to community outings (walks, day trips, appointments)
- Encouraging routine, encouraging independence, striving for autonomy
- Based-on-need personal care
- Mobility assistance (walker, wheelchair, transfers)
- General wellbeing, motivation, companionship
- Maintaining a clean, organised home environment
- Effective communication, recording care updates in logs
- Following the client’s individual care plan
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals who:
- Are calm, approachable and reliable, with a proactive, encouraging rather than overly directive mindset
- Are comfortable with a live-in care role
- Can effectively support a client in the community
- Actor a respectful approach to independence and personal boundaries
- Are good communicators, capable of building rapport quickly
- Are organised, tidy, mindful of routine and attentive to detail
- Will complete Paragon’s training and follow best-practice guidance

Training & Ongoing Support
Paragon specialises in spinal cord injury and complex care:
- Full training before start date
- Ongoing clinical guidance and supervisory support
- Understanding SCI and safe support is encouraged—but not highly clinical.
