Role Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity for a capable, service-led live-in couple to jointly take responsibility for the daily operation, presentation, and guest experience of three high-quality holiday cottages set within a remote and scenic part of rural Perthshire. The full range of duties may be shared flexibly between the couple in line with each person’s relevant skills, experience, and strengths. The opportunity is ideally suited to a couple who value countryside living, take pride in meticulous standards, and are confident working with autonomy in a premium guest environment.
Together, the couple will cover the operational, guest-facing, housekeeping, maintenance, compliance, administrative, and on-call requirements of the cottages. Responsibilities can be allocated between them according to their respective skill sets, while both individuals remain jointly responsible for ensuring a seamless guest experience and consistently high standards across the properties.

Guest Experience & Operations
- Act as the primary point of contact for all guests before, during, and after their stay.
- Manage bookings, check-ins, check-outs, guest communications, and emergency support.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of hospitality and customer service.

Housekeeping & Changeovers
- Oversee and carry out cottage changeovers, including cleaning, laundry, staging, and presentation.
- Maintain inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
- Ensure cottages are immaculate, well-stocked, and ready for arrivals.
Maintenance & Property Care
- Conduct regular inspections of all cottages, grounds, and external areas.
- Carry out minor repairs, basic DIY tasks, and routine upkeep.
- Report major issues promptly and coordinate external contractors when required.
- Maintain gardens, paths, outdoor seating areas, and general estate tidiness.
On-Call Duties
- Provide evening/overnight on-call availability for urgent guest needs or property emergencies.
- Respond promptly and professionally to issues such as heating, water, access, or safety concerns.

Business Administration
- Manage booking calendars, guest communications, and operational records.
- Track hours, expenses, mileage, and maintenance logs.
- Support owners with compliance, safety checks, and supplier coordination.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure cottages meet all legal requirements including fire safety, PAT testing, risk assessments, and cleanliness standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow company policies.
Skills and Experience
- Strong hospitality or property management background
- Excellent practical skills (DIY, troubleshooting, problem-solving)
- High standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Confident communicator with a calm, guest-focused approach
- Comfortable living in a rural, remote location
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Desirable:
- Experience of social media management, including creating engaging content, maintaining an online presence, and supporting the promotion of the cottages.
